OSHA’s Top 10 for 2025

Most Cited Safety Standards

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced its list of the Top 10 Most Cited Standards in 2025:

1. Fall Protection – General Requirements
2. Hazard Communication
3. Ladders
4. Control of Hazardous Energy – Lockout/Tagout
5. Respiratory Protection
6. Fall Protection – Training Requirements
7. Scaffolding
8. Powered Industrial Trucks
9. Personal Protective and Life-Saving Equipment – Eye and Face Protection
10. Machine Guarding

Fall protection tops the list with a total of 5,914 violations in 2025. According to the National Safety Council, it remains the most-cited standard for 15 consecutive years.

These recurring violations underscore a critical truth: many workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities are preventable. OSHA’s list serves as a crucial reminder of where compliance gaps persist, highlighting the urgent need for stronger safety training, enforcement, and prevention programs across industries.

Employers are encouraged to review this information, identify common risks in their workplace, and strengthen safety measures to protect employees.
