We are seeking qualified, motivated professionals willing to excel in a fast paced, high tech environment for the following positions:

Claim Specialist / Senior Claim Specialist

Knowledge of Hawaii Work Comp laws and claim handling practices, the ability to work independently and strong communication skills required. Minimum of three (3) years experience in handling indemnity claims required for Claim Specialist position or five (5) to seven (7) years experience for Senior Claim Specialist.

Successful candidate must be able to:

  • Communicate with all parties to determine coverage and compensability, facts of loss, and degree of liability and exposure.
  • Responsible for completion of the 24 hour initial investigation. Evaluate claim exposure, negotiate and resolve complete claims. Attend mediation and hearings as necessary and interact with USL&H personnel and the State of Hawaii DCD-LAB members as appropriate.
  • Responsible for litigated cases and assess litigation referral whenever applicable. May assist defense counsel in developing litigation plan for effective claim resolution.
  • Maintain quality claim files in accordance with the State of Hawaii WC guidelines, USL&H Laws best practices and procedures.
  • Prepares claim status reports.
  • Settles claim promptly and equitably
